Violinist Vladimir Jablokov Comes To Wexford Opera House
There are few musicians who have successfully straddled the worlds of pop and classical music but Vladimir Jablokov is one who has done so to great acclaim. And this month, the Slovak violinist and his musicians come to Wexford Opera House with an exciting show featuring a diverse programme from Bach to The Beatles. Vladimir has been performing since the tender age of ten and since making Ireland his home, has played to sellout audiences at the National Concert Hall and Cork Opera House, among others. His eclectic mix of pop and classical music also greatly impressed President Mary McAleese when he had the honour of playing Áras an Uachtaráin.
Performing comes naturally to Vladimir- he is a fourth generation musician and tours with six of his family (including both parents) in the Slovak Festival Orchestra, which he established four years ago. As well as setting up his own ensemble, Vladimir also found love in Ireland - meeting wife Justina during his busking days on Grafton Street.
Vladimir is also the musical director of Mario Lanza - The Loveliest Night Of The Year, which is also on its way to Wexford Opera House. However, Vladimir's performance at the Jerome Hynes Theatre will give audiences the chance to see one of the country's most exciting violinists in an intimate setting.
Vladimir and His Musicians play the Jerome Hynes Theatre in Wexford Opera House on Sunday, November 14 at 8pm. Tickets priced €22.50 and €20 (concessions) are now available through www.wexfordoperahouse.ie or by contacting the box office on 053 912 2144. No booking fee applies.
