Ulster Bank to Sponsor the 2011 Dublin Theatre Festival

By:

Loughlin Deegan, Director of the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival, is delighted to announce that Ulster Bank will be the title sponsor of the 2011 Festival which will be their fifth and final year as title sponsor of the Festival.

In 2007 Ulster Bank began its title sponsorship which initially ran for three years but due to its enormous success was extended to 2010 and 2011. Over the past five years the support of Ulster Bank has played a vital role in the growth and development of the Festival. The partnership has resulted in successful initiatives such as Open House, enabling people who would usually not be able to afford to go to the theatre, and various free ticket programs helping the Festival reach out to wider audiences.

Ulster Bank and the Festival will work together to find a new title sponsor for 2012 and beyond. As a leading arts sponsor, Ulster Bank will continue to support the arts at a local level in the future.

‘We have very much enjoyed working in partnership with our colleagues at Ulster Bank over the last 5 years. Their passion for the arts has made them one of the leading arts sponsors in Ireland and our association has been a very successful and enjoyable one. Plans are well underway for the 2011 Festival and we look forward to presenting an exciting programme later this year'. Artistic Director, Loughlin Deegan.

'Over the last four years we have formed a strong partnership with the Dublin Theatre Festival and we are delighted to be sponsoring the Festival for a fifth and final year. We are committed to working closely with the Festival to find a suitable sponsor to continue this important role and we will continue to support the arts; making it accessible to local communities across the island of Ireland.' Bobbie Bergin, Director of Communications & Corporate Services, Ulster Bank
