This is a night for all music fans! Featuring some of the finest musicians in Ireland, the Steve Kelly Big Band will be performing the music of Buddy Rich, the "World's Greatest Drummer!"

The band will be playing the music that made the Buddy Rich Big Band one of the most popular jazz big bands of all time. With swing numbers like "Big Swing Face" & "Love For Sale" and rock/funk hits such as "Beulah Witch" & "Dancing Men", the night will also feature Buddy's piece de resistance, the notorious arrangement of "West Side Story".

Led by drummer Steve Kelly, this is a rare chance to hear the original arrangements of the music of Buddy Rich, performed live by a 17 piece big band.

Soloists include Ryan Quigley (Trumpet), Eoghan Kelly (Trombone-Steve's brother) and Brendan Doyle (Tenor Sax.) There may be one or two drum solos too!

Steve Kelly is sub-principal percussionist with the RTE Concert Orchestra, & teaches percussion in the Cork School of Music. At the age of 15 he performed with Buddy Rich alumni Bobby Shew (trumpet) at the Cork Jazz Festival, which sparked in him a keen interest in Big Band drumming. Please come along on Tuesday 26th of Feb for what promises to be a memorable evening of music!
