The Millennium Forum has announced that Seamus Cullen will star as Che in the Bill Kenwright production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical masterpiece, Evita, when it performs at the cityside venue in March.

Best known for reaching the final ten of BBC's hit show ‘Any Dream Will Do', Seamus was thrilled to be cast in the role of Che Guevara, joking in typical fashion that he already had a couple of things in common with the real life Che: first, that they both have Irish blood and, secondly, that both their fathers have publicly acknowledged their sons' lack of ability on the dance floor!

Seamus began his public performance career back in 1982, as an angelic choirboy singing Christmas carols on the BBC broadcast live from Buckfast Abbey. Over the course of his career, he has developed an impressive CV of vocal performances, including those with Westlife, Lee Ryan, Mica Paris, Rod Stewart, Dionne Warwick, Kim Mazelle, Clem Curtis, London Community Gospel Choir, Shakin' Stevens and Brian Kennedy. During this time, he also founded inspirational choir Many Rivers, was a founder member of the St Patrick's Gospel Choir and is still lead singer of rock band Mosquito. Following ‘Any Dream Will Do' in 2007, his band, Mosquito, released their debut EP, The Crying Girl and, shortly after, Seamus was invited to take part in the European tour of Thriller Live!

Joining Seamus on stage is West End performer Rachael Wooding, in the title role of the extraordinary Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, who, from young and ambitious beginnings, gained enormous wealth and power during her ultimate rise to sainthood. Rachael's West End musical theatre credits include Hairspray, We Will Rock You, Saturday Night Fever as well her UK and national tour credits of Footloose, Starlight Express and Cats.

Featuring some of the biggest hit songs ever written, including Don't Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night Of A Thousand Stars, Another Suitcase In Another Hall, Oh What A Circus and You Must Love Me, EVITA is the must-see show of the season!

With more than 20 major awards to its credit, including the Oscar winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, and featuring one of the most coveted roles in musical theatre, this brand new production of the smash hit show truly promises to be THE THEATRICAL event of the YEAR!

EVITA, in association with Airporter, performs at the Millennium Forum from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 28th March. Tickets are now available from the Box Office. Telephone 71 264455 or visit www.millenniumforum.co.uk for bookings. Opening Night now SOLD OUT! Discount Deals offer - for details contact Box Office.
