Roscommon Arts Centre Seeks Summer 2011 Submissions

Season of exhibitions by Roscommon Artists for Summer 2011, calls for submissions

Roscommon Arts Centre is in the process of planning its summer visual arts programme which will include opportunities for local, Roscommon-based artists to show work in the centre's visual art space.

The summer programme will take place during July and August with artists invited to submit applications for week-long exhibitions, the first of which, it is envisaged will open the week of July 18th.

Submissions are now invited from county Roscommon-based artists working in all mediums.
Submissions should include:
Up to date Curriculum Vitae for each artist
Short Biography
2 images of recent work

Artists are also encouraged to submit any supporting documentation in the form of catalogue essays, reviews, press releases etc, which they feel may support their submissions. Further information: 090 6625824 / edonnelly@roscommoncoco.ie. Closing date for receipt of submissions is Friday 11th March at 5.00pm. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Lambert's perform ‘Snow White' with special guest Bosco

The Lambert Puppet Theatre Company, family favourite and National Treasure return to Roscommon Arts Centre on Saturday 12th February with 2 performances only of the classic fairytale ‘Snow White'. Suitable for families and especially for children aged up to 10, this is the perfect Saturday treat. From its earliest beginning the Lambert family has been involved with RTE TV, working on the hugely popular series Wanderly Wagon featuring the late Eugene Lambert and Judge. Paula Lambert was the 'Bosco' voice on TV for seventeen years and indeed Bosco is still a firm favourite with the younger children and will make a nostalgic appearance in the opening part of the Show.
This is a beautifully produced show with large puppets, colourful sets and exquisite lighting and is suitable for an age group up to ten years of age. Show times are at 2pm and 4pm, tickets are just €10 and can be purchased from Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 6625824.
