Born seconds apart, Darren and Sinead, aka Pig and Runt, live in a fantasy world all of their own in Cork City. Trash TV, disco beats and a load of cheap booze have fuelled this obsessive friendship. But as they go for their 17th birthday binge, reality violently collides with their fantasy and their world begins to crumble.

Disco Pigs is a furious, funny and violent dash through a lifelong friendship at the moment of its savage destruction. This production first played a sell-out extended run at the Young Vic Theatre, London, in 2011, and is back on tour marking the 20th anniversary since the original production by Corcadorca in 1996.

Disco Pigs comes to the Everyman, Cork, at 8.00pm on Monday the 19th of September, until Thursday the 22nd. Tickets priced at €22, €20 concession, or €9 for students. Tickets available from www.everymancork.com or from the Box office, telephone 021 450 1673.

Director Cathal Clearly was the first Trainee Artistic Director at the Donmar Warehouse. In 2013 he directed Arthur Miller's The Last Yankee at The Print Room Theatre which received four Off West End award nominations, as well as having worked as an associate director with companies including National Theatre, Michael Grandage Company, Old Vic and Young Vic. He has also directed numerous productions as artistic director of Zelig Theatre in Galway, Ireland.

Disco Pigs was the breakthrough play by Enda Walsh, who has been hailed as one of the most electrifying writers of his generation. The original 1997 production set the Edinburgh Festival alight and won both the George Devin Award and Stewart Parker Award, transferred to the Bush, and was later made into a film.
