New Dates Announced For HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL At Millennium Forum

The Millennium Forum has confirmed that the stage version of the smash hit Disney movie, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, will perform for an extra week when it arrives in the city early next year. The show will now run for two weeks from Monday 2nd until Saturday 14th February 2009 and tickets will go on sale for the additional shows @ 9.30am on Tuesday 27th May.

Millennium Form Chief Executive, David McLaughlin said:

"Ticket sales for this International show have far outstripped demand, therefore, I have been in negotiations with Disney's management to secure an additional week of performances. High School Musical will now run for a second week from Monday 9th - Saturday 14th February. Week one has now almost sold out and we have had customers from far and wide booking tickets. This is a further indication of the overall success of the Millennium Forum as it continues to grow from strength-to-strength."

It burst onto the cultural landscape first as a smash hit Disney Channel Original Movie and the soundtrack climbed to the top of the Billboard charts. Now, get ready for "the start of something new!" Disney Theatrical, producers of THE LION KING, MARY POPPINS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, are bringing Disney's phenomenon High School Musical to the Millennium Forum as part of a tour that will see it perform in Northern Ireland for the very first time.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is a contemporary musical comedy about Troy, a popular high school basketball star, and Gabriella, a shy, academically gifted newcomer, who discover they share a secret passion for singing. When they sign up to audition together for the lead roles in the school musical it threatens East High's establishEd Pecking order and sends their cliques into uproar.

The production, which features a cast of 34 performers and a live orchestra, includes all of the favourite characters and songs from the movie, plus two new songs written especially for the stage. All this combines to make High School Musical a must-see for every fan and theatre-goer alike. So "getcha head in the game!" and get ready for Disney's High School Musical.
