Grand Canal Theatre Announces Updated 2010-2011 Programming

The Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin presents the best of National and InterNational Theatre, Musicals, Drama, Opera, Ballet, Family Shows & Classical Concerts and has the facility to accommodate world class West End and Broadway productions for the first time in Ireland. The theatre has announced additions to its 2010-2011 season programming.

Mooney Tunes

On December 19, Derek Mooney presents "Mooney Tunes," a concert of music chosen by listeners to Mooney on RTÉ Radio 1, with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conductor David Brophy and special guests. Tickets are priced from €10 and will go on sale Wednesday October 27.

Christy Moore with Declan Sinnott

Extra dates have been added for Christy Moore with Declan Sinnott on January 7-8, 2011. Christy Moore is one of the most compelling and inspirational musicians Ireland has ever seen. He has a universal fan-base that stretches from Beijing to Boston, Auckland to Aughrim. Over his forty year career, Christy Moore has given us a phenomenal 30 albums and still continues to entertain, cementing him as an Irish icon. Declan Sinnott is one of Ireland's most gifted musicians. He helped to form the pioneering and innovative band, Moving Hearts, alongside compatriot Christy Moore. A tight bond was formed between these two creative and talented musicians, a bond which continues today as is evident in their live performances.

Transatlantic Sessions

Transatlantic Sessions will perform on January 29. Transatlantic Sessions settle back into their original live home, magically transforming the Concert Hall stage into the back porch of your dreams. The show's rapturous ovations up and down the country echoed the audience response every year at Celtic Connections, and the 2011 line-up is sure to be no exception.

Colm Wilkinson

Colm Wilkinson has added an extra performance date on February 20, 2011. This exclusive show will feature Broadway blockbusters like Music of the Night, Bring Him Home, The Impossible Dream, Somewhere, and many other musical favourites, as well as Irish classics and popular standards.

Harold Lloyd's - Safety Last

Harold Lloyd's "Safety Last" will be presented on June 12, 2011. European premiere on the Big Screen with newly remastered digital prints and new orchestral scores by Carl Davis performed live by the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Wallfisch.
