Dublin's Gaiety Theatre Presents PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME!, 3/10

The Gaiety Theatre of Dublin will present a new production of Brian Friel's PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME!, directed by Dominic Dromgoole and produced by Noel Pearson beginning March 10, 2010.
PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME! is regarded as one of the most significant Irish plays written in living memory. It has been credited as having changed the course of Irish theatre when it was first staged in 1964, the premiere being also at the Gaiety Theatre as part of that year's Dublin Theatre Festival. It immediately established Brian Friel as the leading Irish playwright of his generation.
For this production, the internationally proven theatre and film producer Noel Pearson has assembled a team of actors (Brid Brennan, Alan Devlin, Gerry McSorley, Barry McGovern, Marion O'Dwyer, Tom Vaughan Lawlor, and Ciaran O'Brien among them) many of whom have significant experience of Brian Friel's work, and have shared in the great success of previous productions of his plays, notably that of the original prduction of "Dancing at Lughnasa" in 1991, which was nominated for eight Tony Awards on Broadway and went on to win four.
