Céilí Band Plays Roscommon Arts Centre, 10/15

Longford's Glenside Céilí Band was formed over 20 years ago by brothers Tom and Aidan Flood. Over the years they have been joined by numerous musicians, all of whom contributed their own unique style to the band's music. As part of Roscommon Arts Centre's autumn traditional programme the Céilí Band will perform the accompanying music at a Céilí Mór at the arts centre next Saturday 15th October from 4pm - 7pm.

Longford's Glenside Céilí Band have made many friends in the music and dancing circles as they travelled all over Ireland and abroad on a number of occasions. They have numerous recordings available with the most recent album entitled Take the Floor with The Glenside special guest Mick Foster. This is the first time the Longford's Glenside Céilí Band have visited Roscommon Arts Centre and they are really looking forward to it!

Presently, Longford's Glenside Céilí Band is made up of: -
Thomas Flood - Button Accordion.
Tom lives in Glen in the parish of Ardagh, Co. Longford. Tom enjoys playing at sessions and Ceílis. He is also a member of the Ceíli Band "An Tain" with whom he played drums when they won the Senior All Ireland Ceíli Band Competition 3 years in a row at the All Ireland Fleadh in 1999, 2000 & 2001. Tom has also won Provencial and All Ireland medals in solo drumming competitions at the Fleadh Ceol.

Aidan Flood - Drums
Native of Glen, Ardagh (close to Edgeworthstown) Co. Longford, Aidan now lives outside Abbeyshrule, Co. Longford. Aidan has been drumming since he was 10 years old. He has drummed in many Ceíli Band and solo competitions at Fleadh Ceols and has no less than 8 All Ireland medals to his name. Aidan also plays other percussion instruments such as bodhran, bones, etc.

Moyra Fraiser or Anne Adlum - Keyboard
Moyra originally hails from Aberdeen in Scotland and now lives in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. Anne is a Longford lady, born and reared. Both ladies come from a very musical background and are very accomplished musicians.
