Beat by Beat Press has announced two new original musicals IMAGINE A DRAGON and FRANKIE BUILDS ANDROIDS are now available for licensing. Schools and youth theaters around the world are invited to request free perusal scripts and apply for production rights at https://bbbpress.com.

These shows join Beat by Beat’s award-winning catalogue of 19 contemporary musicals, specifically crafted for young actors aged 7-14. Since its launch in 2011, Beat by Beat has emerged as the world’s fastest-growing publisher of new musicals for young performers, boasting over 7,000 licensed productions in 75 countries.

“We’re thrilled to offer two new options for schools and theaters seeking refreshing material to perform,” said Denver Casado, founder of Beat by Beat Press. “These shows were inspired by direct feedback from elementary and middle-school students and are created from the ground up with young actors in mind.”

IMAGINE A DRAGON is a 45-minute musical comedy for actors aged 7-14, written by Kathryn Funkhouser and Denver Casado. The story revolves around a group of innkeepers who fabricate the return of a dragon to their town in an effort to attract heroes and revive their struggling inn. The inn quickly fills with an array of guests, leading to humorous and unexpected consequences. The musical features an epic folk-rock score.

FRANKIE BUILDS ANDROIDS is a 60-minute quirky sci-fi musical comedy for actors aged 11-18, created by Kerry Kazmierowitztrimm, Denver Casado, and Andrew Fox. It follows Frankie, a brilliant but socially awkward student who, after a failed group project, decides to replace her classmates with android replicas. The show, with its modern synth-pop score, explores themes of individuality and community.

Beat by Beat's unique online publishing platform offers free ePerusals, allowing directors to instantly read and listen to entire shows via a multimedia PDF file.
