Jenn Colella To Star In One Night-Only Benefit Reading of UNBEATABLE

Laurie Frey's "Unbeatable" will return to NYC for a One-Night Only Benefit Reading on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 7PM at The Irene Diamond Stage, The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 W. 42nd Street, New York

Broadway star Jenn Colella ("Come from Away") stars as Tracy Boyd, the role she originated.

Driven by her over-scheduled, overachieving life, Tracy encounters an unexpected medical diagnosis in UNBEATABLE - THE MUSICAL. Based on a true story, this fast-paced 90 minute show chronicles Tracy's roller coaster life over the course of one transformative year with humor, courage, wit and strength. With high stakes for herself and her support team, we root for Tracy as she navigates the unknown.

A portion of proceeds from the reading will benefit The Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, A program of The Actors Fund.

The idea for a benefit concert reading emerged after numerous cast members mentioned that they wanted to perform in UNBEATABLE again because the show is fun, powerful and incredibly relevant. So in a very "Tracy Boyd fashion", Frey picked an August date, locked in New York venue and 13 previous cast members quickly responded with "I'm in!" The reading will be directed by Michael Barnard and the Music Director is Todd Schroeder.

Ticket holders are welcome after the performance for a quick Q&A, plus a one hour Meet & Greet reception with creators and cast in the lobby.

UNBEATABLE was conceived by Laurie Frey, developed by Michael Barnard, Book by Eric Coble (The Velocity of Autumn, Bright Ideas, The Giver) and Music/Lyrics by Todd Schroeder and Kevin Fisher.

Produced in several venues throughout the country, UNBEATABLE is now available for a wider larger-scale production(s). "Timing for projects is a unique process, and as a creator, you know when the time is right, " said Frey. "I have been blessed to produce and GM other shows for the past decade, yet there is something about the story, music and impact of my show that has never dwindled - not in my perspective nor in the hearts of others. So, it's time to follow that lead and see where it goes."
