Fridays by the Fountain 2011 Summer Concert Schedule Announced

The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend Tribune and Sunny 101.5 are pleased to announce the outdoor summer concert series -- Fridays by the Fountain 2011. This will be the eleventh year that the free concerts have been held and are open to the public. Rock, Irish, Jazz, and Country bands, along with the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts students will take "the stage" in the Jon R. Hunt Plaza in front of the historic Morris Performing Arts Center during lunchtime from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on six Fridays in June, July and August.
Scheduled dates include:

June 10 ..... Kennedy's Kitchen (Irish)
June 24 .... Alligator Blackbird (Rock/Folk)
July 8 ..... Half-Pint Jones (Jazz)
July 22 .... Terry & The Heartbeats (Pop/Rock/R&B)
August 5 .... The Douglas James Band (Country)
August 19 ... Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts (Variety)

Lunch will be available to purchase from The Morris Bistro, Papa John's, and the State Cafe. A variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, and salads will be available. Tables will be set up around the plaza to enjoy the concert. People are also welcome to bring a sack lunch, a chair or blanket and relax on the lawn.

Since 2001, Fridays by the Fountain has attracted a wide audience to the plaza. Local business people, families and senior citizens alike have come to enjoy the free concerts, outdoor dining and the spectacular plaza fountain.
