The fifth edition of Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival held at ITA Machkhowa received an overwhelming response. The festival is a great initiative to promote performing arts from the North East region of India.

Amongst the films that were screened at the festival were Escaping Time from Arunachal Pradesh, Sairat from Maharashtra, Aaba from Arunachal Pradesh amongst many others that compelled the viewers to appreciate a lot of talent coming from the regional film industries in India.

During the festival, singer Papon who has created a unique place for himself in the India music scene spoke about his experiences and struggles. Papon who hails from the north east was a perfect inspiration for a lot of youngsters who are looking ahead for a breakthrough in the mainstream.

On day 2 of the festival director Vishal Bharadwaj too gave a talk and spoke about the beauty of north east as well as the unexplored potential of this lovely part of India.

The festival aims to pay homage to the rich heritage of the region.
