SIMEON, is an ensemble work created by dancer-choreographer Kalpana Raghuraman. This work is a tribute to the music of the Dutch contemporarycomposer Simeon ten Holt. Holt's music has inspired a generation of young makers to think and make connections between music and other artistic responses. Traversing on a similar philosophy as Holt, this choreographic symphony juxtaposes Indian classical form of Bharatanatyam with music that is inherently classical Dutch in nature.

This work is a choreographic response to ethos of mankind- survival. It proposes questions and struggles of everyday living in urban landscape through subtle movements growing to big gestures woven together through music that follows the tenets of minimalism. The dancers and musicians complement each other by challenging each other with speed and flow juxtaposed with stillness and staccato - dance and music alternate in this pattern
