If one were to think about one character from Indian mythology who had an enormous impact not just as his avatar as a demigod but also with his childhood and adolescence, then it has to be Krishna.

Krishna who inspired a generation with his strength of character in Bhagwad Gita and who channelized an era with his famed speech during the war in Hindu epic Mahabharata is an enigma both for believers and everyone alike.

While Krishna has been depicted in a myriad of forms both in history and popular culture, perhaps the colorful depiction of the life he lived is truly represented by a dance drama. And this is the representation that a soon to be staged dance drama musical is set to showcase.

Krishna directed by Padmashri Shobha Deepak Singh, that will be screened at Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra in Delhi later this month looks to be a rang filled celebration of the life that spanned thousands of years.

The dance drama format has been carefully chosen to tell this story that is abound with various raas, emotions and intertwined stories. Krishna by Shobha Deepak Singh will be depicting the fascinating persona's life, abounding with legends, myths, miracles and adulation. Perhaps for the first time ever in the history of Indian theatre, will there be a depiction of a life lived over a span of three thousand years. The format effectively would be portraying the fascinating journey of the playful icon from his adorable childhood and youthful antics, to the centre stage of human reverence. To enhance the visual appeal of the show, the Kendra is using the LED wall for the first time.

The play seems to be an important representation of India's rich mythological heritage.
