Pipeline follows Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, who is committed to her students but desperate to give her only son Omari opportunities hell never have. When a controversial incident at his upstate private school threatens to get him expelled, Nya must confront his rage and her own choices as a parent.Our production is directed by Destyne Miller and features actors Christian Adana, Mykal Sanders, Krystal Uchem, Justin Walker, Kendrick Brown, and Barbara Brandt.Pipeline was nominated for several Lucille Lortel awards in 2018 and Morisseau is the recipient of many awards of her own including the Steinberg Playwright Award, August Wilson Playwriting Award, Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama, and two Obie Awards.
