At a recent press event, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl officially announced January 1st as FLASHDANCE day. Following the Pittsburgh engagement, FLASHDANCE will embark on a national tour to more than 25 cities in the next seven months with additional bookings to be announced soon. A small, invitation only audience was treated to an evening of fantastic talent on display in 14 world première ballets by names that are sure to leave a lasting impression on the world of dance.

(10/14/2012) - As part of a Halloween double feature, The Country Playhouse presents Frankenstein by Victor Gialanella, for three weekends only, now through October 27, on its Cerwinske main stage. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, with a Sunday matinee on October 21 at 2:00 pm, plus a weeknight show on Thursday, October 25, at 7:30 pm. As previously announced Glenn Fleshler joins the cast of the Alley Theatre's Death of a Salesman asWilly Loman. He was the understudy for Willy Loman in the recent Broadway production. His Broadway credits also include Captain Brice, RN in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and Antonio's man/ensemble in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the show below.

Graduates and supporters of the HSMT program from the past four decades joined for an evening of celebration and reunion as they mixed and mingled amidst the backdrop of the HSMT rehearsal rooms, complete with wine and hors d'oeuvres from City Kitchen.
