Wordsmyth Theater Chooses Christie Winn's CABARET KALISZ for November Reading
If you have a skill, you are preserved.
CABARET KALISZ tells the tale of women in a concentration camp -- their loss, survival and music. Wordsmyth Theater Company presents a reading of Christie Winn's play as part of the Houston-based playwright's theater company's dedication to the development of new theatrical works from formative stages through full production.
Through workshops and readings of plays with directors, dramaturgy and performers at various stages, as well as through lectures, seminars, classes and web resources, Wordsmyth aims to provide the playwright with a wide range of assistance in realizing their artistic vision.
Wordsmyth also participates in ENGAGE Houston, which is supported by Houston Endowment and implemented by Mid-America Arts Alliance with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and foundations, corporations and individuals throughout Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The CABARET KALISZ reading is 7 p.m. Monday, November 21. Main Street Theater, 2540 Times Blvd. For more information, visit wordsmyththeater.org. Free.
