Texas Repertory Presents OF MICE AND MEN, Now thru 11/09

The Texas Rep Theatre Co., Houston's Uptown Classic Theatre, continue to celebrate its 10th anniversary season with John Steinbeck's American classic Of Mice and Men. Chosen by audiences as one of The Texas Repertory Theatre's "greatest hits", Of Mice & Men opens tonight, October 17th, and will run 4 performances a week through November 9th.

One of the very first plays in the theatre's history, this production made the reputation of The Texas Repertory Theatre and established it as one of Houston's premier live theatre venues. In a time when dreams seemed a thing of the past, two unlikely friends dare to believe in a better life. George Milton and Lennie Smalls, two migrant workers living deep in the wrath of the 1930's dustbowl depression, desperately cling to the belief that they are somehow different from those around them, as they have a future and their friendship to see them through. This timeless & beautiful Pulitzer prize-winning classic by John Stenbeck is a haunting reminder that even when we believe in them most, dreams may go wrong and "the best laid plans of mice & men often go awry."

The Texas Repertory Theatre production of Of Mice and Men features Houston theatre veterans Mark Roberts and Sean Patrick Judge as George Milton and Lenny Smalls respectively, as well as Texas Rep company members David Walker, Cameron Cooper, Haley Hussey, James Monoghan and Shane Manning, as well as Toby Mattox and Brandon Balque making their Texas Rep debut under the direction of Artistic Director Steven Fenley.
