Stephen King's MISERY to Open at Stage Door, Inc., 2/15

By:

Misery opens Friday, February 15th, 2013 and runs, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm, weekends through March 10th, 2013. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors or students with ID. Group rates are available for all performances. Reserve seats or buy tickets online at www.stagedoorinc.com or by phone at (832) 582-7606.

Misery is a stage adaptation of Stephen King's famous novel of the same name, which also spawned the famous movie starring Kathy Bates and James Caan as Annie Wilkes and Paul Sheldon. One of the best thrillers around, Misery is the story of a writer and his "number one fan."

Paul Sheldon is a romance novelist who just finished his latest work and on a wild hair decides to drive through the mountains to LA. Caught in a snowstorm in those mountains, he has a terrible car accident. Luckily, he is saved by his number one fan, Annie Wilkes. Unfortunately, as it turns out, Annie is a little off her rocker. What follows is a psychological nightmare for Sheldon. Far from civilization, injured from the car wreck, Annie keeps him hooked on pain medication and then injures him further.

The entire piece is a battle of wills between Annie and Sheldon and within Sheldon himself, culminating in an actual battle for survival.
