Powderkeg Productions Presents Sketch Comedy

Powderkeg Productions offers their latest array of sketch comedy, social satire, and unbounded absurdity in "Powderkeg 4: The Sketches," written and directed by actor/writers Conor Farrell and Cassie Randall, showing Fridays in May at Station Theater.

Farrell and Randall have been writing for Houston stages for years, currently finding a comfortable home for sketch comedy at Houston's improv hub, Station Theater. They've both come off of successful full-length runs at The Company Onstage earlier this year. Randall's show, Inside the Mind of Cassie Randall, featured poignant, heartfelt pieces as well as biting social satire-and a monologue from a dying sperm. Farrell's show, The Conor Side of the Universe, featured some of his most beloved Smattering pieces and sketch shows, including the story of a man raised by a human-sized widower chicken. This is the kind of stuff you should expect at their next run of sketch shows, "Powderkeg 4: The Sketches," which the pair wrote, produced, and directed together.

"We are really pushing to produce smart, entertaining, and exciting sketch shows," say Farrell. "The cast is really bringing it and truthfully are contributors as well. I am pumped for this show and I am proud of what we are doing onstage with these sketch shows. I believe the audience members will be leaving with smiles on their faces as well."

"And aching cheeks and abs," adds Randall. "As always, our show features adult content and language, so be prepared. We love swear words and satire."

"Powderkeg 4: The Sketches" features, Dustin Blanton, Evy Brown, Conor Farrell, Lindsey Jackson, Brian Kondrach, Cassie Randall, David Toscano, and Sarah Jane Willett. The show runs Friday nights May 11, 18, and 25 at 10pm at Station Theater. As always, this late show is BYOB and pay-what-you-will, but Powderkeg is happy to share free beer from their sponsors, Karbach Brewing Company, with entry.

Station Theater is located at 1230 Houston Ave.
