Photo Flash: Meet the Stars of Firecracker's Gender-Swapped Version of THE DUCK VARIATIONS
Firecracker Productions presents a fresh take on THE DUCK VARIATIONS by David Mamet. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the stars in rehearsal and in costume!
THE DUCK VARIATIONS by David Mamet dramatizes the old adage that people who talk with the most authority about something are the ones most likely to know the least about it. Two women discuss the ways of ducks, making observations about life that are profoundly hilarious.
The play is traditionally written for two men, but Firecracker Productions has received permission from Mamet to cast women in both roles, making no other changes to the text. Karen Schlag will portray George and Tasha Gorel will play Emil in this modern variation of the classic play.
David Mamet is a member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame and is a Pulitzer Prize and Drama Desk Award winning playwright.
Bree Bridger directs this production, which runs March 11-26 at Frenetic Theater (5102 Navigation Blvd, Houston 77011). Tickets start at $10 and are available online at www.FirecrackerProductions.org.
