Photo Flash: First Look at COSI FAN TUTTE at Opera in the Heights

Madmen meets the The Dick Van Dyke Show in Opera in the Heights' (Oh!) latest production of Mozart's Così fan tutte set in a penthouse high atop New York City. This take on the opera depicts the story of two sisters, Fiorgiligi and Dorabella, modern single women in the late 1950s, who are pursued by two traveling salesmen with ardent intentions," said David Ward, Stage Director.

"Little do they realize that these men are their boyfriends in disguise. Egged on by the cynical Don Alfonso, Guglielmo and Ferrando are competing to see which sister is more faithful. Despina the maid aids in their madcap pursuit," said Ward.

"Così is a musical treasure, unquestionably one of Mozart's most beautiful scores, packed with some of the most lush and intricate arias and ensembles he gave us. Così is a bit of a funny entity, in that this unabashedly silly plot is somehow ennobled by this magnificently sophisticated music," said Eiki Isomura, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor.
