PIPPI LONGSTOCKING: THE FAMILY MUSICAL to Play Main Street Theater, 6/8-8/3

Based on the novel by Astrid Lindgren, PIPPI LONGSTOCKING: THE FAMILY MUSICAL will play Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market, June 8 - August 3, 2014. Adapted for the stage by Sebastian and Staffan Gotestam, the show features music and lyrics by Sebastian and will be directed by Jimmy Phillips.

Pippi Longstocking lives alone (with a monkey!) in her wacky house, Villa Villekulla. When she's not dancing with the burglars who were just trying to rob her house, she's attempting to learn the "pluttification" tables at school; fighting Adolf, the strongest man in the world at the circus; or playing tag with police officers. Pippi's good-natured hijinks cause as much trouble as fun in this bubbly, slapstick musical for the whole family!

PippiPALOOZA: Join us for a Piptastic, family-friendly gala, benefitting MST's Education and Outreach programs. Includes the performance of Pippi Longstocking. Sunday, June 8 at 12:30pm at Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd. $45 per person.

PAGE TO STAGE BOOKCLUB MEETING: On Saturday, June 14, MST will hold its Page to Stage Book Club meeting at the Blue Willow Bookshop at 10am. The club meets over the course of the season to talk about the books the MST Theater for Youth plays are based on, meet characters from the books, have a snack, make crafts, and hear a reading from the book. Children can bring their own copy of the book or purchase it at a discount at Blue Willow (located at 14532 Memorial Drive (at Dairy Ashford)). Pippi and the Pirates Luncheon: Ahoy there mateys! Pippi wants you to join her and her pirate friends for a special lunch. Enjoy pirate crafts, face-painting, and lots of pirate activities.
