Main Street Theater Presents ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY Image

Main Street Theater provides theater experiences for all ages. Founded in 1975, our MainStage produces professional, intimate, literary plays for adults; our Theater for Youth produces professional, engaging productions based on children's literature for families and school groups, both in-house and on tour around Texas; and we offer Education and Outreach programs on-site and at satellite locations around the Greater Houston area for youth aged 4 - high school. We perform locally in 2 facilities: our Rice Village home on Times. Blvd., and as part of the MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston) on Main Street.

We've all been there... BAD DAYS! Based on Judith Viorst's much-beloved book of the same title, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a wonderfully fun musical version of the story to which we can all relate! The production will run: Sunday, March 3 at 12:30pm and 3:30pm, SPRING BREAK Wednesday - Friday, March 13 - 15 at 11am and 2pm, Saturdays, March 16 - 30 at 11am and 2pm at MST's Midtown location, 3400 Main St. in Matchbox4. All tickets are on sale via phone at 713.524.6706 or online at MainStreetTheater.com. Tickets are $16 - $24.

Main Street Theater offers Accommodations Performances. There is a Sensory-Friendly performance November 11 at 3:30pm. The Audio Descriptive performance (headsets available) is November 11 at 12:30pm. Large print playbills are also available at Will Call.

About Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

"I went to sleep with gum in my mouth, and now there's gum in my hair, and when I got out of bed this morning, I tripped on the skateboard, and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running, and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day." This wonderfully fun musical teaches children of all ages to share their feelings and reminds us all that bad days can happen to anyone - even in Australia! Recommended for Kindergarten and up. Children under the age of 3 (including sleeping babies) not allowed in the theater.

The production is directed by Robin Robinson with musical direction by Eduardo Guzman. Daniel Edwards will play Alexander. The rest of the cast includes Danté Anderson, Chioke Coreathers, Cody House, Bette Le, Madison Mapes, and Natalie Nassar.

The design team is Liz Freese (costumes), Nicholas Graves (set), Bryan Ealey (lighting), Emily Curley (sound), and Mark B. Robbins (props). Choreography is by Elizabeth Tinder. Danielle Docwra is the production stage manager. Saraiah Gonzalez is the performance stage manager.
