The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston is excited to present: A Treasure Trove of Gilbert & Sullivan

Featuring Trial By Jury and Scenes from Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, and Yeomen of the Guard, July 20 - 22, Zilkha Hall, Hobby Center.

After the Wortham Theater Center was devastated by Hurricane Harvey, the Society had to find a new home for our annual production. The Society has put on a summer show every year for the last 65 years, so we were determined not to let this setback stop us. We were fortunate enough to secure Zilkha Hall, right next door in the Hobby Center, a beautiful theater that will no doubt delight our audiences.

To fit into our new surroundings, we crafted a new production. This summer will feature a fully staged version of Trial By Jury for the first time in a dozen years, starring Alistair Donkin as the Learned Judge. In this one-act judicial romp, a jilted bride seeks justice from her former fiancé, a cad she'd be better off without!

But that's not all, as the Society is excited to present scenes from not one, not two, but three G&S operas. These semi-staged excerpts will include dialogue and a selection of favorite songs:

You no longer have to wait ten years for the Society to perform these operas again; enjoy favorites from all three of them in one evening! Combined with Trial By Jury, this surely is a Treasure Trove of G&S!
