Harry Connick, Jr. Plays Society for the Performing Arts Tonight

By:

Society for the Performing Arts announced today that Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist Harry Connick, Jr. will come to Houston for one night only, tonight, Nov. 9, 2013, at 8 p.m. in Jones Hall. This Houston stop is part of an 18-city fall tour on the heels of a critically acclaimed album release. Connick exposes his feelings as never before on his 29thalbum release, Every Man Should Know, which contains 12 original songs for which Connick wrote music, lyrics and arrangements.

"No rules, no limits," is how the multi-talented artist describes the songs in his liner notes for the new collection. "I don't recall ever reaching quite as deeply - or confidently - into my inhibition pool."

The range of the songs is vast, touching upon love and loss, celebration and sorrow, tragedy and hope. With Every Man Should Know, Harry Connick, Jr. triumphs once again, with a depth of feeling that signals another milestone for one of the music world's most multi-faceted artists. Critics have been quick to agree with People Magazine calling it "impressive," and the Boston Globe saying the album features "his most thoughtful and personal songs to date" and says its "an album that every Harry Connick, Jr. fan should own." The Chicago Tribune said, "Harry Connick, Jr. achieves a personal best" about his summer concert in Chicago.

Ticket prices range from $42-$110. Single tickets may be purchased in person on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 12-4 p.m. at Jones Hall during Theater District Open House and online beginning Aug. 26. Tickets may be purchased NOW by ordering a Society for the Performing Arts subscription package online at www.spahouston.org, by phone at 713-227-4772 or at the courtyard level ticket office at Jones Hall located at 615 Louisiana St. Hours of operation: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
