Honolulu Theatre for Youth Presents NAVIGATOR

Honolulu Theatre for Youth's 2010-11 'Season of Science' continues with the world premiere of Navigator by Susan Soon He Stanton. The play opens Friday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m., and then plays Saturdays, Nov. 27 at 4:30 p.m., Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m., Dec. 11 at 4:30 & 7 p.m., and Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Tenney Theatre on the grounds of The Cathedral Church of St. Andrew. It is ideal for ages 5 and up.
Kuma Kahua Theatre to Close After 40 Years

Kumu Kahua Theatre will hold a press conference on Tuesday, December 21 at 10 AM at its 46 Merchant Street theatre to announce Kumu Kahua's possible closing at the end of February 2011. For most of its 40-year history, Kumu Kahua Theatre has told Hawai'i's story through theater, offering talented local playwrights and actors a crucial venue for their craft, and giving the Hawai'i community new perspectives on its island home. Many of its productions have become statewide touchstones, such as the hits Folks You Meet at Longs by Lee Cataluna and Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers by Lois Ann Yamanaka.

The play opens Friday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m., and then plays Saturdays, Jan. 8, 15 & 22 4:30 p.m. at Tenney Theatre on the grounds of The Cathedral Church of St. Andrew. It is ideal for ages 8 and up.

This year's event includes psychic readings, a bloodthirsty performance from improv group 'On The Spot', a Costume Contest, an undead vampire Murder Mystery, a special performance by Grant Uchida, the final performance of Thrill the World 2010, and more!
