ProArts Announces Fall Season and Auditions 7/30-31

ProArts. Inc. announces open auditions for their upcoming season of shows at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. The shows are: Social Security(Andrew Bergman), Other Peoples' Money (Jerry Sterner), Jack & the Beanstalk (ProArts original), and Ruthless! The Musical (Joel Paley and Marvin Laird). The season will open on September 2, 2011 and run through January, 2011.

Auditions for the first two shows of the season, Social Security (Director: Kristi Scott) and Other People's Money (Director TBA), are scheduled for Saturday, July 30 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon, and Sunday, July 31 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the ProArts Playhouse at Azeka Shopping Center (Makai), 1280 S. Kihei Rd. in Kihei.

Social Security characters: David and Barbara - a 30ish couple of Manhattan art dealers; Trudy and Martin - the 40ish uptight in-laws from Long Island; Sophie Greengrass - Barbara and Trudy's feisty old mother; and Maurice - a charming 98 year old artist.

Other People's Money characters: Andrew Jorgenson - the aging Chairman of the Board; Bill Coles - the company CEO; Lawrence Garfinkle - a Wall Street corporate raider; Bea-the Chairman's long-suffering assistant; and Kate - the quick thinking sexy attorney.

Auditions are for actors 20 and over. Auditionees should bring their current résumé and headshot and be prepared to read from the script(s). Readings will be available at audition time. Scripts will be made available when calling for an audition appointment. A stipend is paid to all participants. Auditions for the final two shows of the season will be announced later.
