Please prepare a monologue of up to two minutes, preferably one that shows verbal facility. Shakespeare is not recommended.
Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back (do not e-mail materials).
Husbands & Lovers by Ferenc Molnar. Dir TBA. 1st reh: 2/6/12. Runs 3/2-3/26. May extend to 4/9.
All roles are available. Seeking an ensemble of Two Men and Two Women, each of whom will play a variety of roles in this sequence of dialogues by the Hungarian playwright Molnar. Characters range from age 16 to age 70, lower-, middle- and upper-class men and women, falling in and out of love. The plays are wry and witty, and creative, flexible performers are sought to interpret them. Actors of all ages, ethnicities and temperaments will be considered.
Wives and Wits by George Bernard Shaw. Dirs: Alan Wade and Laura Giannarelli. 1st reh: 4/3/11. Runs 4/27-5/21. May extend to 6/4.
Program of two one-acts, Overruled and Village Wooing. Three of the actors sought will appear in both.
Juno / A:
AVAILABLE ROLE. Male, 30s-40s. Juno: Upper-class, philandering husband. Outraged at his own wife’s infidelity. A: Curmudgeonly author, trying to avoid an inevitable marriage. Very verbally adept.
Mrs. Juno / Z:
AVAILABLE ROLE. 20s-30s. Mrs. Juno: Upper-class, unfaithful wife. Outraged by her own husband’s infidelity. Z: Talkative young woman. Patiently pursues the man she knows will marry her eventually. Expert debater.
Lunn / Steward:
AVAILABLE ROLE. 30s-40s. Lunn: Businessman having an affair with a married woman. Objects to his wife’s affair. Steward: Shipboard servant. Well-spoken and witty.
Mrs. Lunn:
AVAILABLE ROLE. 30s-40s. Married woman having an affair with a married. Objects to her husband’s affair with another woman. Assured and imperious.
Amelia by Alex Webb. Dir: Bill Largess. 1st reh: 12/19/11. Runs 1/5 – 1/29/12. May extend to 2/12.
Both roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
Amelia:
CAST. 30s. Fiercely determined woman. Takes on enormous risk to find her husband, a prisoner of war at the Andersonville prison camp.
Man:
CAST. Actor can be any age. Plays more than 20 characters, male and female, all ages, whom Amelia encounters on her journey. Tour-de-force role requiring great range and stamina.
