PREPARATION

Actors should prepare a 3-minute audition consisting of either 2 contrasting monologues or 1 monologue and a brief cut of a song of their choosing. An accompanist will be provided. If you are unable to attend these auditions, you may submit a video audition by email at:

Track 1 – Rick (really wants to have sex), Hamilton (is a rich young tennis pro), Bigtime (owner of the Dallas Cowboys football team)
Track 2 – Greenfelt (owns local sports goods store), Biddle (works at the high school library), Kevin (high school jock)
Track 3 – Hardwick (a swinger, owns a candle shop), Bradley (high school Spanish teacher), Ashley (comes from money, has a hard time with the ladies), Nick (college-aged, works at a record store), Johnny (tight end on the football team), Tim (Donna’s boyfriend, shy and soft-spoken football player)

INTIMATE APPAREL (SPT 5)

SEEKING

Esther Mills - Is a 35-year-old African American seamstress specializing in delicate lingerie.
Mr. Marks - Romanian-born fabric seller. Mr. Marks is a gentle, handsome orthodox Jew about the same age as Esther.
George Armstrong - Is a laborer from Barbados working on building the Panama Canal. After courting Esther by letter, he comes to New York and marries her.
Mrs. Dickson - The middle-aged widow who runs the rooming house where Esther lives; she has known Esther for nearly 20 years and feels a deep maternal fondness for the younger woman.
Mayme - Is a stunning 30-year-old prostitute who is Esther's customer and friend. George becomes one of Mayme's clients, and she falls in love with him.
Mrs. Van Buren - A high-society wife in her 30s who can't manage to get her husband's attention and takes solace in alcohol. She develops a crush on Esther, who is the only person she can confide in.
