[EVA PERON] Female identifying, 18+ to play 15-33 (character ages throughout the show); an actress turned wife and ambitious political partner of Argentina President, Juan Peron. Star presence. A chameleon. Powerful, manipulative, charismatic, feminine, sensual, and stoic. Displays a wide range of emotion – and vocal stamina. Mezzo with a strong, high belt who dances or moves very well; Low E below middle C to high G.
[CHE GUEVARA] Male identifying, 30s. A passionate, revolutionary figure. Che is the narrator and formidable antagonist to Eva Peron. Has a powerful command, physical stamina and vocal endurance to withstand the demands of the role. Charismatic rock tenor – Low Bb to high Bb to F5 in falsetto.
[JUAN PERON] Male identifying, 40s-50s; a prominent officer who becomes the President of Argentina; Stately, charismatic and charming; Can be warm and sympathetic to chilly and threatening. Legit baritone with a powerful voice. Commanding presence. Low A to high F#.
[MAGALDI] Male identifying, 35-45. A tango singer and Eva's first love interest. A sense of used car salesman to him. Track doubles as ensemble. High baritone or tenor – Middle C to high G. Moves very well.
[MISTRESS] Female identifying, 18+ to play 16-20; an innocent-looking young woman; has a sweet sounding high mix; doubles as ensemble; high mix/belt; Low A to E.

[NARRATOR/MYSTERIOUS MAN] Male identifying; 40s-50s. Baritone. Narrator: an inviting and warm-hearted guide that maneuvers the audience through the storytelling. Comedic, commanding and stately. The Mysterious Man: an odd and magical man who lives in the woods. Speaks in rhymes and riddles.
[CINDERELLA] Female identifying; 20-30s. Soprano. A young woman who longs for something greater outside of her miserable household. She adapts to her surroundings very easily and is emerges into herself with determination and bravery.
[JACK] Male identifying; 18-20. Tenor. A young lad – a cheerful dreamer – who spends his days with his best friend, a cow named Milky White. He doesn’t know who he is yet but is determined to find out. Full of heart, Jack easily distracted but has great potential for depth and dimension.

] Female identifying; late 40s – 50s. Soprano. Jack’s single mother – jaded but determined to make a better life for herself and her hapless son. Practical, no nonsense and with great command of physical and intellectual comedy.[BAKER] Male identifying; 30-40s. Baritone. An earnest, easily flustered baker who is devoted to his wife and the idea of a growing family. Lacks confidence and depends greatly on his wife. Full of heart – forced to make a terrific journey of self-discovery and responsibility.
[BAKER’S WIFE] Female identifying; 30-40s. Mezzo. A witty and resourceful woman who wishes for a family and will do anything she can to get it. Cares very much for her husband but longs for more from him. Great comedian with star presence and charm.
[LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD] Female identifying; 18-20. Strong belter. A wide-eyed, naïve and spunky kid. She is daring in the woods, but it can sometimes come at a cost. Makes a shift from brash and forceful to caring and empathetic.
[WITCH] Female identifying; 30-40s. Mezzo-Soprano with strong, powerful belt. Wicked, spiteful, and stunning. A magical diva. While she is antagonistic and narcissistic, she has moments of vulnerability, wisdom, and empathy. Star presence and terrific comedic skills.
[WOLF/CINDERELLA’S PRINCE] Male identifying; 20s-30s. Lyric baritone. A suave and charismatic wolf determined to capture his prey. The prince is good-looking and charming but also cunning and greedy. Full of himself and magnetic in every way. Physically agile and a terrific comedian.
[RAPUNZEL] Female identifying; 20s. Soprano. She has spent her life isolated in her tower and is desperately seeking to explore the world and connect. Defensive and withdrawn but ultimately kind

[RAPUNZEL’S PRINCE] Male identifying; 20s-30s. Lyric baritone. Brother to Cinderella’s prince. Competitive against his brother and in love with Rapunzel. Vain and selfish. Strong comedic skills.

[CAROLE KING] Female Identifying, 18+ to play 16-29 (character ages throughout the show). An aspiring singer/songwriter with a powerful, distinctive voice. She is a unique, funny, and vulnerable girl from a Jewish family in Brooklyn. Humor is a defense mechanism for her initial lack of social confidence. Talented, good natured, unassuming, and often the peace maker in difficult situations. A reluctant star with no pretense but a deep passion for music. Mezzo/Soprano belt.
[GERRY GOFFIN] Male Identifying, 18+ to play late teens-late 20s. Carole’s boyfriend, songwriting partner, and eventual husband. He is smoldering, dark, and handsome with a rebel vibe. Despite being a perpetual flirt, he is also innately sympathetic, wounded, and tortured. An ambitious artist always striving for more, trying to fill an emptiness he can’t identify. Sings well. Baritone/tenor.
[CYNTHIA WEIL] Female Identifying, 18+ to play late teens-late 20s. Carole’s best friend and a fellow songwriter. She is sophisticated, smart & chic with a quick wit. Although self-confident, competitive and sarcastic, she is also warm, endearing and loyal friend. Has strong comedic timing. Mezzo Soprano belt.
[BARRY MANN] Male Identifying, 18+ to play late teens-late 20s. A songwriter who becomes romantically involved with Cynthia. He is good natured, and highly neurotic. Ambitious, but likeable and extremely loyal. Has strong comedic timing. High pop/rock tenor.
[DON KIRSCHNER] Male Identifying, 30s-40s. An influential music publisher and producer. He is a fast talking, energetic, force of nature. Powerful, direct, and sometimes intimidating, but he has a real affinity for his writers and artists. A hit maker.
[GENIE] Female Identifying, 40s-50s. Carole’s Jewish mother. Once an aspiring playwright, she has been broken down by life and her husband’s infidelity. As protective of Carole as she is unforgiving of her husband’s mistakes. This is a NON-SINGING ROLE.

[MARK] Any Ethnicity, Late teens – early 20s. Accomplished dancer who sings well. The youngest male on the line. Boyish and charismatic.
[GREG] Any Ethnicity, late 20s – Early 30s. Accomplished dancer who sings. Highly sophisticated, wry and intelligent with a decidedly wicked wit. Out and proud.
[BOBBY] Any Ethnicity, Mid – Late 20s. Accomplished dancer who sings well. He has a quirky almost outrageous comedic sense, yet, remains immensely likeable.

[MAGGIE] Any Ethnicity, Mid 20s. Accomplished dancer who sings very well. Sweet girl next door; shy, sensitive with a powerful voice. Soprano with a solid mix/belt to E.
[DON] Any Ethnicity, late 20’s. Ladies' man, married, and into cars, money, and women. Very sure of himself. From the Bronx.
[CONNIE] AAPI, 20’s. Excellent dancer. Married and petite. A bit of a mother hen with a great sense of humor. Born in Chinatown. Believably is 4’10”.
Requirement for proof of vaccination:
Everyone entering the audition venue (i.e., venue employees, Equity members, non-members, casting personnel, creatives, producers, musicians, etc.) will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination prior to entry into the venue. (Anyone with a medical or religious exemption from vaccination, should e-mail ahoeschen@actorsequity.org with Vaccination exemption in the subject line and attach proof of exemption in advance of their appointment. Information provided will be kept confidential.) Anyone with symptoms of COVID, flu, or any other infectious disease that can be transmitted by casual contact should not attend the auditions.
Everyone participating in the auditions is encouraged to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
If the risk level for New York County is trending upwards and may rise to High (Red) we will contact members with appointments at least 48 hours before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All members with appointments will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if the auditions must be postponed or cancelled.
We encourage members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Holding/Audition room information:
The audition room (Studio B) can accommodate no more than 28 individuals at a time. The holding room can accommodate no more than 40 individuals at a time.
