Experienced musical theatre performers for all roles. Also seeking understudies for all roles. Please see breakdown.
Preparation
Prepare a brief musical theatre song in the style of one of the shows. Have a contrasting BRIEF selection ready in case it is requested. Accompanist provided. Selections from the shows permitted. Bring headshot and resume.

| Breakdown
Aladdin and Hairspray play in repertory June through October 2012. Actors may be cast in both productions. Some shorter contracts may be available. Tuacahn is an outdoor amphitheatre located in southwestern Utah (110 miles from Las Vegas).
ALADDIN – 20s, clever, resourceful street urchin with a heart of gold; best friends with Babkak, Omar and Kassim; seeks a life beyond the confines of poverty
JASMINE – 20s, intelligent young princess with insight beyond her years and station; seeks a life beyond the confines of privilege
BABKAK – 20s, chubby, romantic desert dweller, part of Aladdin’s band; the “Crosby” of this Arabian “Road” picture, although perhaps with a bit more flair
OMAR – 20s, nervous, diminutive desert dweller, part of Aladdin’s band; the “Lamour”
KASSIM – 20s, tough (inside and out) desert dweller, part of Aladdin’s band; the “Hope”
SULTAN – 50s, kind-hearted, widowed ruler of Agrabah; gets so caught up in following the law and tradition that he overlooks his daughter’s desires and gets swindled by his own vizier
JAFAR – 50s, bitter, deep-voiced, rapier-tongued advisor to the Sultan; cannot tolerate idiots; always looking out for #1; the comedic villain of our story
IAGO – 40s, dim-witted, classic-comedy lackey to Jafar
GENIE – 30s-40s, quick-witted, fast-talking, ancient genie who knows all time and place; an old-school song-and-dance man
HAIRSPRAY-
TRACY TURNBLAD- Female, Caucasian, to play high school age. Tracy is a "pleasantly plump" teenager, who dreams of fame and fights to racially integrate The Corny Collins Show. Strong pop belt singer and great mover.
EDNA TURNBLAD-Male to play female, Caucasian, 40s 50s. Tracy's kind, plus-sized mother Edna runs a laundry business out of her home. Needs a funny, grand character actor with singing ability who can convincingly play a woman.
WILBUR TURNBLAD -Male, Caucasian, 40s 50s. Wilber is Tracy’s goofy father, who owns the Har-De-Har Hut joke shop and is still madly in love with his wife, Edna. He encourages Tracy to follow her dreams.
LINK LARKIN -Male, Caucasian, to play high school age. Link is a teenage heartthrob and one of The Corny Collins Show Council Members, who falls in love with Tracy. Link is a strong pop singer and great mover.
SEAWEED J. STUBBS- Male, African American, to play high school age. Seaweed is a hip "Negro Day" dancer and the son of Motormouth Maybelle who falls in love with Penny. Seaweed is a strong, soulful tenor pop singer and great mover.
AMBER VON TUSSLE- Female, Caucasian, to play high school age. Amber is a bratty, selfish resident princess of The Corny Collins Show, despite her lack of talent. She is willing to do anything to win the Miss Teenage Hairspray pageant. She is a strong pop belt singer and great mover.
PENNY PINGLETON- Female, Caucasian, to play high school age. Penny is Tracy's slightly dorky, devoted and perky best friend. She is strong pop belt singer and mover.
CORNY COLLINS- Male, Caucasian, 30s. Corny is the eccentric and cocky host of The Corny Collins Show, handsome, charming, engaging, and smooth. Strong pop singer.
MOTORMOUTH MAYBELLE- Female, African American, 40s 50s. Maybelle is the owner of a downtown record shop and the host of "Negro Day" on The Corny Collins Show, self-described as "big, blonde and beautiful.” Strong, soulful gospel/pop singer.
VELMA VON TUSSLE- Female, Caucasian, 40s 50s. Velma is Amber's scheming mother and producer of The Corny Collins Show, who pushes her daughter to seek the stardom that she never had. Good character singer.
LITTLE INEZ- Female, African?American, to play early teens. Inez is Seaweed's younger sister, who tries to audition for The Corny Collins Show but is turned away because she is black, strong Broadway/pop singer and mover.
MALE AUTHORITY FIGURE- Male, Caucasian, 40s 50s. Mr. Pinky, owner of Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hideaway who gives Tracy and Edna a makeover, Principal of Patterson Park High School, and Mr. Harriman F. Spritzer, the President of Ultra Clutch Hairspray.
FEMALE AUTHORITY FIGURE- Female, Caucasian, 40s 50s. The Matron guarding The Big Dollhouse, the Gym Teacher, and Prudy Pingleton: Penny's overprotective and often close-minded mother.
THE COUNCIL- A group of teenage singers and dancers on The Corny Collins Show. They are: Brad, Tammy, Fender, Brenda, Sketch, IQ, and Lou Ann. Also part of the Council is Amber and Link.
SEAWEEDS PALS- Male and female African American singers and dancers to play high school roles. They are: Gilbert, Stooie, Cindy Watkins, Lorraine, Duane, and Thad.
THE DYNAMITES- 3 sexy African?American female singer/dancers inspired by the Supremes. Should have glorious pop/gospel singing voices. Should move well. They are featured in the showstopper "Welcome to the '60s".
