BREAKDOWN

THE YOUNG MAN FROM ATLANTA: Set against the backdrop of a rapidly modernizing 1950s Houston, the Kidder family’s lives are turned upside down once again when a figure from their son’s past shows up in town. They deny, deflect and deceive in an effort to avoid the danger but can’t avoid the inevitable reckoning.

SEEKING:

WILL KIDDER
White male, 60s. A successful Texas businessman whose life begins to unravel after his son dies under clouded circumstances.

TOM JACKSON
White male, 35. Will’s colleague who was hired and mentored by Will and eventually replaces him.

TED CLEVELAND JR.
White male, 44. Head of Will’s company, whose father originally hired Will and built the company into a success with him.

LILY DALE KIDDER
White female, late 50s-early 60s. Will’s wife. She, too, is devastated by her son’s death and is also unraveling. She doesn’t sleep and has become very religious since his death.

PETE DAVENPORT
White male, late 70s. Lily Dale’s stepfather who now lives with the Kidders.

CLARA
African-American female, 30s-60s. The Kidders’ maid and cook.

CARSON
White male, 27. Pete’s great nephew and also a former boarding house roommate of the Kidders’ son in Atlanta.

ETTA DORIS
African-American female, late 70s-80s. Former maid of the Kidders who travels to visit them despite her declining health.
