Equity Principal Auditions:

Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at The Oakes Center

9 AM – 5 PM 120 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ

Lunch from 12:00 – 1:00 (Between Ashwood Avenue and Russell Place; see directions)

No appointment necessary. Actors will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.

Please prepare a brief contemporary monologue, preferably no more than three minutes in length.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

This romantic comedy explores how language is sometimes a barrier and sometimes a portal to true love.

Seeking:

Mary:

Any ethnicity, 30s to 40s. George’s wife; frustrated with his lack of ability to communicate with her. Seeking a real connection.

Emma:

Any ethnicity, 30s to 40s. George’s lab assistant. Secretly in love with George.

The following roles have been CAST. Actors auditioning will be considered for possible replacements if necessary:

George:

CAST. Any ethnicity, 40s. A linguist.

Alta:

CAST. Any ethnicity, 60s. One of the last representatives of a dying culture.

Resten:

CAST. Any ethnicity, 60s. Alta’s husband.

Directions to the Oakes Center, provided by the Theatre: “Take NJ Transit, either bus or train, to the downtown Summit stop. Walk down Broad Street approximately ½ mile, make a right on Ashwood (dry cleaner on corner). Make first left onto Morris Avenue. Theatre is on corner between Ashwood and Russell. Enter in Russell Place alley on side of building.”
