Sides will be provided at the audition, and are available at the Theatre in advance. In addition to reading from sides, please prepare a 1-minute comic monologue.

Freely translated and adapted from Feydeau’s “Tailleur Pour Dames”. Hilarious farce with the obligatory innuendos, indiscretions, mistaken identities and prerequisite slamming doors. Recently married Dr. Molineaux tells a little lie to his young wife, and subsequent misunderstandings, deceptions and outrageous behavior ensue at the doctor’s home/office and at the dress shop at 70 Rue Sans Souci.
Seeking (all roles are available):

Étienne: Man, 30s. Dr. Molineaux’s valet. Attracted to Marie.
Dr. Hercule Molineaux: Middle-aged. Yvonne’s husband. Physician. Guilty of a minor indiscretion.
Bassinet: Man, 30-40s. A patient and friend, with a serious lisp.
Gustav Aubin: 40s. Prussian soldier. Jealous husband of Suzanne.
Marie: Late 20s, early 30s. Mme. Molineaux’s maid. Secretly married to Bassinet.
Yvonne Molineaux: 30-40s. Hercule’s wife. Suspects her husband of infidelity.
Madame Aigreville: 60s. Yvonne’s mother. A gorgon of a mother-in-law.
Suzanne Aubin: 30s. A patient. Gustav’s wife. Aggressively sexually suggestive.
