Hung:
AVAILABLE. Vietnamese man, about 25. The lead character in the two prequels to this play, “Trial By Water” and “Blood in America”. Immigrant who escaped Vietnam when he was 15, when his parents put him and his brother on a fishing boat that was illegally traveling to the Philippines. However, the engine dies, stranding its 110 passengers at sea. The passengers lose their minds and kill one another, including Hung's little brother. Hung takes revenge on the leader of the murderers and slays him. It’s been 10 years since this voyage. This play marks his return to Vietnam after a decade living as an American.
Qui / Khue:
AVAILABLE. Two character track. Any ethnicity. Qui: Playwright of the play. Khue: Hung’s father, in shadowplay.

Tien / Dinh / Pimp / David Henry Hwang:
CAST. Multi-character track. Tien: The man Hung murdered in the play “Trial By Water”. Dinh: Vietnamese tour guide. Pimp: A pimp. Hwang: Asian American. Famous playwright.
Huy / San / Wife:
CAST. Multi-character track. Actress plays Huy, Hung's little brother (who died in “Trial By Water”); San, the daughter of Tien; and Wife, the wife of Tien.
