BREAKDOWN

William Gillette: 40s - 50s. A successful, dashing actor with a lively mind and a fanciful imagination. Considers himself to be a good detective, since he made his fortune playing Sherlock Holmes.

Martha Gillette: Actress in this role must convincingly play mid 70s. Martha is a delightful, clever, fierce old lady.

Simon Bright: 20s – 30s. Young leading man. Sweet, energetic and enthusiastic. Aggie’s boyfriend.

Aggie Wheeler: 20s – 30s. Sharp, beautiful, bright-eyed, full of spunk and vigor. Simon’s girlfriend.

Felix Geisel: 40s-50s. Gillette’s best friend and occasional sidekick. Occasionally sarcastic, often melodramatic, always flamboyant. Married to Madge.

Madge Geisel: 40s -50s. A leading lady, smart and passionate and delightful in a Rosalind Russell, smart-mouthed, girl-about-town kind of way.

Daria Chase: 30s-60s. Self-made woman. Catty, funny, fierce, temperamental, passionate and vicious.

Inspector Goring: Woman, 30s-60s. A female police inspector (rare for that time period). Smart, insightful, sharp, the next minute she’s off into a world of her own.
