SEEKING
Male and female actors for the 56th Season of Tent Theatre. Please see breakdown for details.
PREPARATION
All auditionees please prepare 45 seconds (MAX) of a song in the style of any show in the season and a 45 second monologue (MAX). Do not sing from the shows in the season. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.

CRY BABY
Wade Cry Baby Walker: B2 - Bb4. The leader of the gang known as the 'Drapes'. A misunderstood teen who acts like a rebel, but has a sensitive side.
Allison Vernon-Williams: E3 - Gb5. A pretty, fun, and intelligent girl. She is a square, but wants to be a Drape.
Mrs. Cordelia Vernon-Williams: C3 - Db5.Allison's protective Grandmother. She keeps many secrets from the other characters. Comedic.
Dupree W. Dupree: B2 - B4. Wade 'Cry Baby' Walker's best friend and a drape. He is always energetic and positive.
Baldwin Blandish: C3 - G4. Allison's Boyfriend who is an enthusiastic square. He is the lead singer of a group called The Whiffles and has strong opinions on politics.
Pepper Walker: A3 - Eb5. Cry Baby's tough sister. She is a drape and pregnant for the third time.
Wanda Woodward: A3 - E5. A Drape who just wants to be Jane Mansfield. There are many rumors circling about her, but she is really a sincere and 'pure' girl.
Mona Hatchet-Face Malnorowski: A3 - E5. A Drape that many others fear. She always carries around a switchblade and is not to be messed with.
Lenora Frigid: F#3 - Gb5. Desperately wants to be a Drape. She is in love with Cry Baby.
THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
Man In Chair: Musical theatre aficionado who mourns the end of the Golden Era. He narrates the show as he listens to the record on vinyl.
Mrs. Tottendale: G3 - Db5. The air-headed, proper, and bossy host of the wedding.
Underling: Ab2 - G4. Mrs. Tottendale's savvy butler who is thrifty and stiff yet has an understated sense of humor.
George: F3 - Bb4. Robert's anxious, dim-witted best man who has Robert's best-interest always at heart.
Feldzieg: Db3 - Db4. Broadway producer who is desperate for his star to return to his show; played by Jack Adler. Aldolpho: A#2 - G4. European self-proclaimed ladies man; played by former silent movie star Roman Bartelli.
The Drowsy Chaperone: F3 - D5. Janet's alcoholic confidante and friend; played by well-established stage actress Beatrice Stockwell.
Trix: Ab3 - Eb5. The brave and brash female aviator who, by chance, is recruited to perform the wedding.
PETER AND THE STARCATCHER
*Note - All roles are male, most will double.*
Black Stache: Long after most everyone else had gotten out of the Pirate business, the Black Stache stuck it out. Must be an excellent comedic actor who is comfortable with featured singing. Strong British accent. Strong singer, Baritone/Tenor up to G#
Lord Leonard Aster: The very model of a Victorian English gentleman, loyal subject to the Queen, devoted father, faithful friend. Must have an excellent British accent. Baritone/Tenor 2 E’s & F’s
Mrs. Brumbrake: Molly’s Nanny. A brave British widow with a big heart and a love of alliteration. A no-nonsense, good-time gal, who liked a rough shag and a quick drag too, back in the day. Must have excellent British and Scottish accents. Strong enough singer for a cappella solo. Baritone
Captain Robert Falcon Scott: Captain of the sports teams at Trinity School, now commander of the fastest ship in Victoria’s fleet, the Wasp. Must have an excellent British accent. Baritone/Tenor 2, up to F#
Smee: First mate to The Black Stache. Simple-minded but single-mindedly dedicated to his Captain’s every whim. Must have an excellent British accent. Featured singer. Strong singer, Tenor 2 up to F’s comfortably
Bill Slank: A vicious Captain without the skill or quality to lead anyone but himself, and always into disaster. Must have an excellent British and convincing Tropical accent. Bass/Baritone
Alf: Gruff and butch exterior. Should be big, physically imposing, perhaps even overweight, while still agile and comfortable with movement. An “old” seadog who’s prouder of achieving the rank of “Mister” than he should be, given the state of the competition. Blue-collar English accent a plus. Tenor to a solid A.
Gempkin: The mean and malodorous schoolmaster from St. Norbert’s Orphanage for Lost boys. Must have an excellent British and convincing Tropical accent. Bass/Baritone
