AIDA

Aida: (She/Her, 20s-30s, Black) Mezzo-Soprano F5 – G3. A beautiful, brave Nubian Princess who is loyal to her people but is torn between her heritage and love for an Egyptian Captain. Daughter of King Amonasro. Singer who Moves

Radames: (He/Him, 25-30s, Any Ethnicity) Tenor Ab5 – G3. An Egyptian Captain and the son of Zoser. A strong, handsome, edgy, adventurous soldier who falls in love with Aida. THIS ROLE IS CAST, BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES

Amneris: (She/Her, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity) Mezzo-Soprano E5 – E3. A beautiful and materialistic Egyptian Princess who is the betrothed of Captain Radames. Daughter of the Pharaoh. Strong Comedic Timing. Singer who Moves. THIS ROLE IS CAST, BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES

Mereb: (He/Him, 18-25, Black) Tenor A5 – G3. A young Nubian slave and servant to Radames. He is faithful to his Nubian heritage and befriends Aida upon her arrival to Egypt.

Zoser: (He/Him, 40-55, Any Ethnicity) Tenor D5 – D4. The manipulative and evil Chief Minister hungry for power. He attempts to poison the Pharaoh and is father to Radames.

Nehebka: (She/Her, 20-25, Black) Mezzo-Soprano E5 – G3. A Nubian slave who is friendly with Aida. She creates a robe for the Nubian Princess. Singer who Moves.

Pharaoh: (He/Him, 50s-60s, Any Ethnicity) The Leader of Egypt and father to Amneris. An older, distinguished gentleman.

Amonasro: (He/Him, 50-65, Black) An honorable and peaceful man who is imprisoned by Egypt. The King of Nubia and father to Aida

CLUE

Wadsworth: (He/Him, 30s-50s, Any Ethnicity) A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.

Yvette: (She/Her, 20s, Any Ethnicity) A loyal and sexy, French Maid.

Miss Scarlett: (She/Her, 30s-40s, Any Ethnicity) A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam, more interested in secrets than sex.

Mrs. Peacock: (She/Her, 40s-60s, Any Ethnicity) The wealthy wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.

Mrs. White: (She/her, 40s-50s, Any Ethnicity) A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.

Colonel Mustard: (He/Him, 40s-60s, Any Ethnicity) A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.

Professor Plum: (He/Him, 30s-50s, Any Ethnicity) Arrogant, academic, and easily impressed by himself.

Ensemble Woman: (She/Her, 20s-40s, Any Ethnicity) Doubles as: THE COOK - A gruff woman with a threatening presence. (Alive and Dead). SINGING TELEGRAM GIRL - A tap dancer with a heart of gold. (Alive and Dead). *AUXILIARY SCARLET - The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.

Ensemble Man 1: (He/Him, 30s-50s, Any Ethnicity) Doubles as: MR. BODDY – A slick, Frank Sinatra, film noir-esque type fella. (Alive and Dead). THE MOTORIST - A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell. (Alive and Dead). CHIEF OF POLICE - A cop who helps to save the day.

Ensemble Man 2: (He/Him, 30s-50s, Any Ethnicity) Doubles as: THE BROKEN DOWN CAR COP - A “Regular Joe.” (Alive and Dead). BACKUP COP - Backup for the chief. *AUXILIARY MUSTARD - The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery.

Elvis Presley: (He/Him, 20s, Baritone or Tenor) singer/guitar player in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Note: Sounds and looks somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator”. THIS ROLE IS CAST BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES.

Jerry Lee Lewis: (He/Him, 20s, Tenor) singer/pianist; he's rock & roll’s legendary piano prodigy and celebrated “Last Man Standing.” A superb piano player. Fun, energetic; comic skills a plus. Note: Able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis. THIS ROLE IS CAST BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES.

Carl Perkins: (He/Him, 30s, Tenor) singer/guitar player; he's the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes”; An excellent lead guitarist. THIS ROLE IS CAST BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES.

Johnny Cash: (He/Him, 30s-40s, Bass or Baritone) singer/guitar player at the dawn of his epic career. Tall. Note: Sounds and looks somewhat like Johnny without being an “impersonator”. THIS ROLE IS CAST BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES.

Sam Phillips: (He/Him, 30s) “Father of Rock’n’Roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B. King; a towering and charismatic figure in American music.

Dyanne: (She/Her, 20s-30s, Alto Belt with Soprano Notes) Sexy, smart, great rock belt and great singer with a wide range. She's an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend.

Brother Jay: (He/Him, Mid 20s) onstage bass player, brother of Carl Perkins

Fluke: (He/Him, mid 20s) onstage drummer THIS ROLE IS CAST, BUT SEEING BACK UP AND UNDERSTUDY CANDIDATES
