BREAKDOWN
Sara is an excellent storyteller and a pretty good older sister. Still, her life is nothing compared to the glamorous world of her idol, @ShoppyGoddess – a teenage fashion mogul and megastar on social media. Sara longs to escape into the fabulous online world of photos, fame, and followers. But when a magical event transports her right into the social media feed itself, she discovers that having a super shiny life may not be so perfect after all. Exploring themes of authenticity, deceit, friendship and redemption, this imaginative new play reveals how empowering it can be to create your own story and take pride in who you are.

*Please note that #SuperShinySara will be produced under an Equity TYA Actor/ASM contract. All actors who are cast will be responsible for load in and load out of sets for each performance in this touring production. It is essential that all candidates be able to lift and carry equipment.
Sara Lee Darkwood (Female, 10): Creative, ambitious, caring, unruly. A storyteller and budding writer who doesn’t know it, yet.
@ShoppyGoddess (Female, 14): A teenage fashion and lifestyle entrepreneur. On the surface, she’s insanely wealthy, perfectly beautiful, and supremely confident. Underneath, she’s trapped by the image she’s created for herself on @PoshKidsofPicstapost. ALSO PLAYS: Francesca Ramirez (age 11 almost 12): Sara’s best friend.
@PoshPrince (Male, 15): Super rich and handsome, but more concerned with the reality of the outside world. Knows Shoppy well, sees through her façade. Thinks Sara is cool. ALSO PLAYS: Rez Darkwood (age 6): Sara’s brother.
Bella Blackthorn (Female, 22): A glamorously vampiric pop star / actress /designer with ambitions of world domination. Lives off the lifeblood of others’ ideas. ALSO PLAYS: Maya Darkwood (age 32): Sara and Rez’s mother.NOTE: Actor playing MIZ WIGGUM also plays the smaller roles of SHANIYA (student) and MR. NIMBLES (teacher)
