BREAKDOWN

Synopsis:

Evelyn and Leonard Kirsch were two ordinary Americans living and working in Philadelphia when war broke out in Europe. In a moment that would change the lives of generations, they made an extraordinary decision: while millions of Jews were trying to escape Europe, Evelyn and Leonard were planning a trip to Vienna, and were making arrangements to take 50 children back out with them to the United States and to safety. Desperate to find enough places for the refugee children to live, the KIrsch’s resort to asking an estranged friend from a violent home to take in a child. But when trying to convince the mother to give over her child, they are forced to question that decision.

Seeking:

EVELYN KIRSCH:
Female, Caucasian, 30’s, a well put-together upper middle class Jewish Philadelphia socialite. Incredibly charismatic, a nimble thinker, intelligent, warm, and energetic, Her heart is in the right place. A little vain, but also willing to make the hard choices.

LEONARD KIRSCH:
Male, Caucasian, 30s-40s, a brainy Jewish upper middle class lawyer. He likes to do the right thing and follows the rules. He sometimes, however, makes plans before he considers what it will take to execute them. A warm man who adores his wife. A strong moral sense.
