Equity actors for roles in Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2022 Season (see breakdown).



INSTRUCTIONS

Please prepare two monologues, no longer than 2 minutes each. Submission should not exceed five minutes in total. Submit a Shakespeare monologue in verse for consideration for Twelfth Night. Please submit headshot/resume and video submission with the title of the e-mail as YOUR NAME - EQUITY PRINCIPAL AUDITION.

LISETTE: Lucille’s maid.

FRANCALOU: Lucille’s father.

MOJO and FLORENCE, by Alice Childress

For this pair of one-acts, actors cast in MOJO will also appear in FLORENCE.

MOJO

IRENE A middle-aged Black woman, diagnosed with cancer.

TEDDY A middle-aged Black man, Irene’s former husband.

FLORENCE

The play is set in a small town in the South, 1949.

MAMA: A middle-aged Black woman, concerned for her daughter Florence, who has moved to New York to become actress.

MARGE: A Black woman in her early twenties, does not support her sister’s dream of being an actress.

PORTER: A middle-aged Black man.

MRS. CARTER: A middle-aged white woman. Oblivious, and easily flustered.
