No appointment necessary. The producer will run all aspects of this call. Equity Principal Audition procedures are not in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided.

Please prepare a brief contemporary comic monologue, preferably no more than three minutes in length.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

SHAKESPEARE IN VEGAS by Suzanne Bradbeer. Director: John Pietrowski

1st rehearsal: Monday, March 11. Runs April 4 – 21 (Thursday-Sunday).

This comedy tells the story of a disheartened actress from New York and a wise guy with a dream who go to Sin City to create a legit Shakespeare theatre.

Seeking:

Tony: Late 40s to 50s. Italian businessman with a love of Shakespeare and skeletons in his closet.

Colette: Any ethnicity, 20s. A Las Vegas performer who is doing legit theatre for the first time.

Mike: Any ethnicity, 20s. Good-looking ex-con making his Shakespearian debut.

Buck: Played by same actor as Mike.

The following roles have been CAST. Actors auditioning will be considered for possible replacements if needed:

Margot: Any ethnicity, 40s. A classical actress from New York. This role is cast.

Merrie Jo: Any ethnicity, 20s. Another denizen of Las Vegas with big dreams. This role is cast.

Theatre’s statement: “All ethnicities strongly encouraged to attend.”

Note from Equity: When casting personnel state that a role has been formally offered and accepted, Equity audition notices list the role as “CAST”.

Directions to the Oakes Center, provided by the Theatre: “Take NJ Transit, either bus or train, to the downtown Summit stop. Walk down Broad Street approximately ½ mile, make a right on Ashwood (dry cleaner on corner). Make first left onto Morris Avenue. Theatre is on corner between Ashwood and Russell. Enter in Russell Place alley on side of building.”
