SEEKING
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is holding general auditions for the 2017 In the Schools season. Casting a diverse and versatile group of actors for upcoming education projects. Equity and non-Equity actors with substantial experience teaching and/or performing for young people is desirable; actors who have facility with verse, move well, and/or play an instrument. Engagements are mostly daytime with some evenings and weekends. January/February rehearsals with full-time performance schedule running February to April. The 5-member ensemble performs and teaches in schools and community venues throughout the metro area, with overnight trips to rural Missouri.
PREPARATION
One (1) brief Shakespeare monologue, excluding speeches from Julius Caesar. Bring two (2) copies of your headshot and acting resume. Bring one (1) copy of your teaching artist resume, if available.

Female Actor 2: Casca / Portia / Fourth Citizen / Messenger (needs to sing/play an instrument)
TALES OF SHAKESPEARE: FOUND AT SEA by Nancy Bell
Marnie (female actor, needs to play 8-10 years old), an imaginative young girl who loves Shakespeare and storytelling, but is upset about her parents’ divorce
Dad (male actor, needs to play late 30s-early 40s), a playful father looking to comfort Marnie as he prepares to move out of the house
Ensemble (1 female, 2 males), who will help Marnie and her dad tell the story of Shakespeare’s Pericles
