Please prepare two contrasting monologues of your choice.

Bagley Wright Theatre
The Servant of Two Masters written by Carlo Goldoni, adapted by Constance Congdon, translated by Christina Sibul.
Directed by: Christopher Bayes

1st Rehearsal: September 10th, 2013
Opening: October 2nd, 2013
Closing: October 20th, 2013
Possible Extension to October 27th, 2013

Waiter (2): Ensemble roles. Must be able to sing, harmonize, and juggle.

Bonita by Elizabeth Heffron
Directed by: Paul Budraitis

1st Rehearsal: September 20th, 2013
Opening: October 23rd, 2013
Closing: November 17th, 2013

Bo-Nita: 13, scrappy, matter-of-fact, but still a child. The role is meant for an adult actor who can play the emotional quality of a 13-year-old, not the exact age.
Must also play her mother (late-30’s), grandmother (late 50’s), a nice male who has trouble with boundaries (30-40), a fastidious married man (40’s), her grandmother’s brother (60’s), and a Cajun man (50’s).

Sherlock Holmes/Elliot Desmond/Tinker: Early 40’s, brilliant detective. In constant search of a challenge equal to his intellect. A shape-shifter with a flair for the dramatic.
Watson/As Cast: 30’s-early 40’s, a doctor. Intelligent, protective, and dependable. Good in a tight spot, a man of action.
Mortimer/Seldon/As Cast: 30’s. Doctor and amateur anthropologist, with a special interest in the occult and pseudo science. An eccentric, but a gentleman.
Barrymore/As Cast: 40’s or early 50’s. Butler at the Baskerville Estate. Loyal, proper, and married to Mrs. Barrymore.
Mrs. Barrymore/Mrs. Hudson/As Cast: 40’s or early 50’s. Maid at the Baskerville Estate. Loyal, but nervous, and worn. Married to Barrymore.
Stapleton/Bearded Man/As Cast: Early 30’s, of Merripit House. Brother to Beryl. He is a naturalist. Idiosyncratic, quick-witted, charming, and protective.
Frankland/Sir Charles/As Cast: 50’s, of Lafter House. Married. Waspish, choleric.

A Great Wilderness by Samuel D. Hunter

Daniel: 16, Male. Closeted, and looking for a way out. He comes from a very religious family, and is filled with guilt about his homosexual feelings. Sensitive and observant..
Abby: Mid-to-late sixties, female. Married to Tim. Protective, practical, and opinionated.
Tim: Mid-to-late sixties, male. Married to Abby. Lawyer and Christian councilor for gay teens. A man of conviction. Altruistic and optimistic.
Voiceover on the Television: Male or female. An amateur voice over artist who is welcoming and calming.

Thomas: A young writer. Intelligent, cultured, and well-read. He’s artist on the rise, and he knows it. Engaged.
Vanda: A young actress. Sensual, funny, and strangely insightful. A mercurial force of nature.


Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee
Directed by Braden Abraham

1st Rehearsal: March 18th, 2014
Opening: April 23rd, 2014
Closing: May 18th, 2014

Martha: 52 years old. Married to George, though disappointed - and now embittered - with his aborted academic career. A daddy’s girl with an acid tongue, and a quick, sometimes malicious, mind. Has suffered great emotional trauma.
George: 46 years old. A member of the history department at New Carthage University. George is married to Martha, in a once loving relationship, now frequented by acrimony. A brilliant mind who feels disempowered, and lashes out through sarcasm.
Nick: 28 years old. Good looking, Midwestern, and clean-cut. He is married to Honey. Nick has just become a new member of the biology faculty at New Carthage University, and looking to climb in the world. He is confident, and focused on his future, science, and the American Dream
Honey: 26 years old. Honey is the petite, mousy, and anxious wife of Nick. She has a weak stomach, and prefers to avoid issues than dwell in their complexities.
