SEEKING

Equity chorus dancers for Riverside Theatre Inc.'s 2025-26 Season (See breakdown).
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Some roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

Please come prepared to dance. Shoes: Heels and character shoes. In case you are asked to stay and sing, please prepare short song cuts to demonstrate skills that align with the vocal styles of each musical. Bring short vocal cut based on season. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. An accompanist will be provided.

[CRYSTAL, RONNETTE AND CHIFFON] FEMALE IDENTIFIED (18+ to play teens). Girl Group singers in the style of The Supremes. Very strong ear/musicians for tight girl group harmony singing. Hip, fun and engaging! ANY ETHNICITY.

[VOICE OF THE PLANT] Male or Female. A funky, street-smart, conniving villain. A strong R&B/Soul performer adept at the vocal stylings of Aretha Franklin and/or Otis Redding. ANY ETHNICITY.

[WOMAN #1] 30s – 50s. MISS SHINGLE, a Cockney housekeeper/governess who has served a wealthy, titled family for 30 years. She informs Monty that he is indeed a Dysquith. Storytelling is paramount for her role. Doubles as TOUR GUIDE, as well as PUB OWNER’S WIFE, MRS. PEBWORTH, 3RD NEWSBOY. Mezzo soprano, G to high A.

[WOMAN #2] 30s – 50s. LADY EUGENIA, an unhappily married countess. Overbearing and mean spirited at times, but comically so. Highly adept at the biting quip and the withering glare. Doubles as MISS HETHERINGTON, and 4TH NEWSBOY. Low F# to high A.

[WOMAN #3] Mid 20s – mid 30s. MISS BARLEY, an alluring artist model. Doubles as SIBELLA’S MAID, HYACINTH COLLEAGUE, PHOEBE’S MAID, HILDA. Covers SIBELLA and PHOEBE. G to high C.

[MAN #1] 20s – mid 30s. Appealing and attractive. TOM COPLEY (aka FARMER), as well as 2ND CLERK, HYACINTH COLLEAGUE, 2ND NEWSBOY, ACTOR, ANCESTRAL BUST, DR. PETTIBONE, and GUARD. High baritone with a strong top; solid low A to high A.

[MAN #2] 30s – 50s. Versatile and appealing. DETECTIVE PINCKEY, who has a featured number. Doubles as 1ST CLERK, PUB OWNER, MR. CROSS, 1ST NEWSBOY, 1ST ACTOR, PHYSICIAN, and 2ND ANCESTRAL BUST. Bass, low C to high G#.

[MAN #3] Mid 30s – 50s. THE MAGISTRATE, as well as MR. GOODSALL, ACTOR, and MR. GORBY. THE MAGISTRATE has a featured number with DETECTIVE PINCKEY. True tenor. B flat to high B flat.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

SEEKING:

[ENSEMBLE] Versatile, strong classic rock, pop or soul singers who move well of ALL Gender Identities. Character ages are 20s/30s. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Men may appear shirtless at times and some women may appear with bare midriffs.

Featured roles such as HEROD, SIMON and PETER, will come out of the ensemble. Members of the Ensemble may also cover select principal roles.

[HEROD] High baritone; 30-50s (B3 – G5). Featured ensemble role. The former Superstar, now gone to seed. Cynical, comedic, cruel: a creature. Candidates are encouraged to bring in their own individual performance. Director will shape concept around the right artist.

[SIMON] 20s-40s. Tenor/high baritone (D3-Bb4(+)) with authentic northern soul/church/RnB voice to escalate the 1st act into a musical frenzy. Featured Ensemble role. Fanatic follower of Jesus and his underground movement. Instigator, outlaw, protestor.

[PETER] Folk-rock baritone, 20s-30s. (D3-G4) Featured Ensemble role. Heartbreaking voice with a little edge. James Taylor/Rod Stewart. Mild-mannered follower, scared believer.

[KATHY] A hard-working single Mom and secretary at Consolidated; late 20s-30s. Sassy, loyal, sure to speak her mind. African-American. Should sing and move well. Soprano.

[MARIA DELGADO] Spirited and intelligent secretary at Consolidated; mid 20s-30s. Latina heritage. Should sing and dance well. Mezzo.

[JOE] A handsome young office accountant; mid 20s-30s. Genuinely nice and intensely loyal, he is smitten with Violet. Should sing well. Bari-Tenor.

[BOB ENRIGHT] Attractive mid-level executive at Consolidated; mid 30s-40s. An average guy trying to climb up the corporate ladder. Featured dancer. Should also sing well. Bari-tenor.

[ENSEMBLE] M/F dancers who sing to play various roles within the ensemble. All types, all vocal ranges. All should be strong dancers in MT styles. Acro/Tumbling skills a bonus.
