[MAN 1] BIPOC, he/him, 40s-50s. The Husband. Hard-working. Pompous. Outwardly, decidedly perfect, but inwardly miserable in his marriage. Or maybe with himself. Trying to be happy. He used to be happy. Life used to be full of possibility. Has everything he thought wanted. Yearns for all that he used to have. Emotionally absent. Songs include “Hello Little Girl”, “Pretty Women”, “Good Things Going”. Baritone. Vocal range F3-F5. Should move well.

[WOMAN 1] BIPOC, she/her, 40s-50s. The Wife. Unsatisfied with her life, seeking more. Wants more than her distant husband is willing to give her. Life used to be full of possibility. Has (almost) everything she thought she wanted. Yearns for all that she used to have. Trying to be happy. Songs include “Could I Leave You”, “Ladies Who Lunch”, “Not Getting Married.” Mezzo. Vocal range D3-G5. Should move well.

[MAN 2] BIPOC, he/him, 20’s-30’s. The Younger Man. In many ways, he is just beginning. Life is full of possibility. He enjoys being a bachelor. He does well being a bachelor. Enjoys the joys of love, not necessarily willing to sacrifice/risk it all for love. May want to marry someday. Songs include “Marry Me A Little”, “Live Alone and Like It”, “Unworthy of Your Love.” Vocal range G3-A5. A strong mover.

[WOMAN 2] BIPOC, she/her, 20s-30s. The Younger Woman. Sexy and confident, Ready for love. In love with love. Naive to the pain love endures but is willing to risk it all for it. 100% certain to have the perfect life with a loving husband and a beautiful home. Maybe a child, maybe a dog. Life is full of possibility. Songs include “Sooner or Later”, “More”, “Unworthy of Your Love”. Mezzo/Belter. Vocal range F3-G5. A strong mover.

[MAN 3] any ethnicity, he/him, 30s-40s. The Observer, Narrator, Commentator, Intruder. Mischievous, mysterious, awkwardly honest, funny. Songs include “Buddy’s Blues”, “Invocation and Instructions to the Audience”, “Merrily We Roll Along”. Bari-tenor. Vocal range F5-G3. A strong mover.
