PCPA 2027 SUMMER SEASON

BREAKDOWN

NOTE: PCPA has a year-round resident company. Many roles are already cast.

NOTE: PCPA is also producing Murder on the Orient Express during our 2027 season; however, this show has been fully cast with our resident company and Conservatory students.

LES MISERABLES

SEEKING:

JEAN VALJEAN: Sings to B, high lyric baritone or tenor, with both strong low notes and a strong falsetto. A poor peasant who rises to affluence, he has great natural nobility and dignity. A powerful figure, with a character of operatic size and passion. Has a pop/rock sound or a classical sound of extraordinary textual clarity.

Ensemble Replacements: Students and other various roles. Some MEAN GIRLS cast members will join the Solvang run of Les Misérables.

All other roles in Les Misérables are cast from our resident company.

MEAN GIRLS

Note: Some cast members from MEAN GIRLS will join the Les Misérables company for the Solvang run.

SEEKING:

CADY HERON: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as female. Any ethnicity. A new student at North Shore High School, Cady grew up in Africa and was home-schooled by her wildlife biologist parents. She is warm, bright, and strong enough to take on The Plastics. With a great voice and good comic timing, she is the emotional heart of our story. Broadway mix with exceptional range. Strong mover. Dancer a plus!

REGINA GEORGE: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as female. Any ethnicity. Regina is the founder and leader of The Plastics. Every trend at North Shore High starts with her. She is regal, calculated, and a master of the social game of chess, but at her most vulnerable moments, she's just another teenage girl facing all the complexities that come with adolescence. When you're in with her, life is good, but she's a fearsome enemy nobody wants to have. Broadway rock with an exceptional range. Dancer/Strong mover.

DAMIAN: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as male. Any ethnicity. Damian is outgoing, gay, funny, and theatrically enthusiastic. He is a fiercely loyal friend to Janis and the two share great banter and rapport. Damian loves a good show tune almost as much as he loves an unattended box of fundraising candy bars. Broadway tenor. Dancer.

JANIS IAN: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as female. Any ethnicity. An Art Freak and social outcast, Janis is not afraid to be weird or make others uncomfortable. She paints herself as an objective observer, but, like so many of us, she longs to avenge the devastating events of eighth grade. Guitar or ukulele skills would be a plus but not required. Broadway alto with a rock belt. Strong mover.

GRETCHEN WIENERS: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as female. Any ethnicity. Desperate to please Regina and to maintain her position in the Plastics, Gretchen is a nervous wreck. In order to survive the vicious high school food chain, she's become a transactional social butterfly - she befriends people to learn their secrets only to trade them later for her own benefit. Her fragility at times is heartbreaking. Traditional Broadway with pop chops. Dancer/Strong Mover.

KAREN SMITH: 18+ to play 17. Character identifies as female. Any ethnicity. Karen has relied mainly on her outward appearance so the other parts of her (the intellect and personality) never had to develop. But she is essentially kind, relaxed and a generous laugher. Traditional Broadway with pop chops. Dancer.

AARON SAMUELS: 18+ to play 18. Character identifies as male. Any ethnicity. Traditional heartthrob with a good moral compass and a backbone. He's not immune to all the female attention he gets, but he's not going to let himself be a pawn in their chess game either. Broadway and pop tenor. Dancer.

ENSEMBLE: 18+ to play high school teens and adult roles. Open to all ethnicities and self-identities. Must be strong singers/actors/dancers including tap. Understudies for principal roles will be cast from our ensemble.
